So, I am fully in taper mode for the upcoming HIM in Racine in 11 or so days.
I am kind of at a loss as to how to manage the weeks between my first HIM and my second, 4 weeks after the first......
I have a base. I would like to keep it, work on my run a bbit more for speed, and be ready for the next one with adequate rest after the first and before the second.
Suggestions anyone? Willing to listen to your thoughts!

You should snuggle with your husband AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE and give him several back rubs and back scratching sessions. This is a time tested taper routine that has been proven to make you faster. You should also cook him a delicious dinner consisting of squash and chicken. This also will enhance your 1/2 iron time.
I like Mike's suggestion! But seriously, I think you'll have a better sense after the race. If it's very hot, for instance, the first one is basically going to turn into a very long training day that is not particularly hard on your legs! I would take a few days totally off to rehydrate etc., and then just see how you feel mentally - if enthusiastic, plunge back in, if tired, take it easy for another week.
First there is a taper, then there is no taper, then there is....
I could go on forever.
I’d say week 1 recovery with probably 3 or 4 days completely off, week two at about 75% of your max volume week, week three at about 35% of your max volume week and week four leading into the race as another recovery week except you should probably do something short in zone three each day just to maintain feel.
Good Luck!
I just read W Baboo's comment and was like, "Uh, what?" Yeah, I have no read strategy advice except take a few days off for sure. You body will need to recover, and it will tell you this.
Then only other thing I thought of was: I'm going to be at Racine too and we have to meet!!!!
We were in the same wave - and still didn't get to meet? How can that be? I talked to Tina - how did I miss you?
Good luck at SORT HIM!!! You will do awesome!! All of your hardwork will shine through!!!
