Insanity Check

Pulled the trigger after this inspirational weekend...........

We waited in the rain outside Monona Terrace to register for IMMoo 2009. I literally jumped up and down once I had the completed paper in my hand.

Someone needs to remind me of that moment as I toe the line on September 13, 2009 please.

Now I have 52 weeks to get ready, lose that last 25 pounds again, and wonder WTF I was thinking when I signed up and how I probably had no business thinking it was within reach.

But I'm gonna do it anyway. Someone has to come in last and it may as well be me.

2 70.3 events and a marathon this year under your belt. You will be ready. Except I hope the race is in 2009 and not 3 days.

You can do this. You already are able to keep the paces required in all three sports to complete it on time. Now the endurance part. How about a couple of long bikes with me this fall. I am already sick of biking alone since IM WI...

WOW!

You are an inspiration, Mrs. W. (And probably a little insane, too.) Looking forward to following your training for the next 12 months.

Congratulations! I have no doubt you'll finish.

The IM journey is long and tough and filled with highs and lows. You'll have workouts that make you feel like an animal and you'll have workouts that make you wonder why you signed up for this stupid race. You'll go through those same emotions during the race, but you'll keep moving forward and eventually you'll hear, "Jenny Wimmer, you are an Ironman," and you'll know all the suffering was worth it. Unfortunately, the suffering continues for a few days, but it's still worth it.

Good luck. I'm looking forward to following your journey to the finish line.
